Wish I’d discovered this years ago. Less time, less stress, and increased accuracy on cleat placement. Wonderful item.

Works great. A few dry runs and you get the hang of it. Bright light on the film and you are good to go.

The method is good. Placement is still tricky as my hands are large and my wrist and forearm fight with the sound hole to get in there far enough. My classical is fan braced and the ideal spot for the cleat is exactly where the brace crosses the crack.(which makes me wonder how it cracked in the 1st place) With some interesting and challenging contortions I’ve rehearsed getting in there just a little further to place the cleat. But you gotta want it! I pretty much have no choice as my pretty good but still cheap(er) classical isn’t worth handing over to a qualified luthier $$$

The lower bout on my Martin 000 had a crack. Though I didn't anticipate that it would expand, I thought it worthy to stabilize with cleats, hence my purchase of the Cleatus system. What I discovered was that I was unable to reach inside the guitar to place the cleat holder and cleat. I switched to plan B using a set of neodyminium magnets, tac putty, and glue, I was able to place three cleats across the crack with the strength of the magnets securing things until the glue dried. Being able to position the outside magnet above the crack made locating and positioning and gluing the cleat an easy process. I left things in place for sufficient time for the glue to set, removed the magnets and repositioned and repeated for the other two cleats. I hope I don't need to use the repair system on other guitars but I'm keeping it in case. Nice product. Reasonable price. Quick shipping. Buy it if you need to do this type repair.

I just did my very first crack repair and was researching different cleat methods available and settled on the Cleatus.
