"A simple nut repair solution that will blend right in and leave you with a stable and lubricated nut slot." - Joe Glaser (Owner, Glaser Instruments)

Nut Rescue is a unique blend of materials made to perfectly fill and lubricate a slot and look great. Developed for over 25 years in a pro repair shop, this excellent resource is now a product (per frequent request).

Originality and efficiency are important to us all and sometimes it makes good sense to fill and recut an instrument nut - rather than replacing it. For this, Nut Rescue can be used and handled in the same way you use baking soda and/or bone dust to fill nuts but with the added benefit of great color match, durability, sound, and lubrication.

Nut Rescue comes in a set of three shades to match most nuts:

  • Black (Graphite, Ebony, Buffalo)
  • Cream (Aged or Natural Bone, Ivory, Tusq)
  • Bright (Modern Bleached Bone and Corian)

Why it matters:

When a guitar string is bent, string is borrowed from behind the nut and friction is a problem. Nut Rescue's low friction is critical for tuning and its long wearability allows many original nuts to be saved and give years of use. This spares a neck the wear and tear of replacement, saves time, and is a valuable repair.

All three colors take CA glue nicely and without discoloration.

Instructions:

1) Clean the slot with a file

2) Score the slot with a razor

3) Use the included applicator to fill the slot with Nut Rescue (tamp it down gently)

4) Touch the slot with a bead of thin superglue (let the glue cure)

5) File to preferred height

Nut Rescue is protected by US Patent #: 11643614

Worked perfectly. I was looking at a 12 string nut that had the aA course slots broken out. It was a $500 import guitar so cutting and slotting a new nut wasn't in the budget. The nut repair powder filled the gap and it was a quick job to flile, re-slot and polish. repair is invisible.

Music City Bridge for the win

I’ve been doing repairs for just shy of two years. I count myself fortunate that I found out about Music City Bridge and the products they produce. I purchased most of the tools they produce. I use them daily. I will always be interested in any new products that they come out with. An amazing company with amazing products.

Stainless saddles win the battle

I have a tele with a short scale neck and a rosewood finger board. Super comfy guitar but wayyy to warm on the E and A string. Swapped in the stainless and problem solved!! The tone change is considerably noticeable. Feels like the tension increased a bit also….Not sure if thats just my mind playing tricks but either way it sounds and feels great!! This tele has the stainless E/A, the brass D/G and the b bender, all Glaser/music city, what a dream! Thanks Guys!!!

The best there is.

I’m new to making and working on nuts so I make a lot of mistakes. This stuff works great. Now I’m not as fearful to ruin something and then have to pay someone to fix my mistakes. I just fill it in and start over. Recently I have purchased many different products from MCB recently and they are all amazing products. It’s nice having people with so much experience making products that work and are not just a gimmick.

So far, so good

I’m always afraid to cut nut slots too deep because I don’t repair them with bone dust or baking soda, I make a new nut. I’ve used the nut rescue instead of making a new nut and it seems fine so far. Time will tell. The cream color is a good match for the bone stock I have. Love that tiny spoon too.
