I purchased the Savy Bridge and locking studs to install on a '72 Gibson SG-1 I was gifted. The guitar is so resonant acoustically and intonates beautifully. I highly recommend this Bridge and I plan on getting another one for my Les Paul Junior. Thanks for making such a great product!
Took a minute to get the new posts adjusted correctly but got it worked out. Sounds great unplugged now too! Thanks Uncle Larry and all the guys in the shop. Well done!!
I installed the Savvy on a Les Paul Special that had slight intonation issues. Happy to say the Savvy brought the intonation pretty close to perfect (but not quite perfect) on my guitar, and the aged nickel finish gave an instant vintage vibe, so 4+ stars for the bridge. I also installed the MCB locking studs along with the Savvy and found them slightly problematic. They do work as advertised but, a tad less simply than expected. First the required adjustment tools for the studs could easily slip and damage the guitars finish so take your time and perhaps slide a rag or thin protective sheet under where you are working. I found I had to use the tool to hold the stud still when tightening the screw to lock in the bridge, or the stud would turn when you tried to lock the bridge down and throw off your string height. This process was something where a 3rd hand would help. It took me a couple of tries to get the strings set just above where they would buzz and get the bridge locked down but once done adjustments are likely to be rare so not a major issue. Over all, I'm very happy with the look and performance of the Savvy and the MCB studs. This guitar has amazing sustain and if anything, the Savvy/MCB studs only added to that trait.
Excellent product. Geat service. Get some…SAVVY…
I bought this tailpiece and studs for my Les Paul Special. The intonation is almost perfect, but my G string is still a little bit off. The tools to adjust the stud's are a little hard to work with, but overall a great improvement from the stock Gibson parts.A+++
The Savvy™ - Compensated Wraparound Tailpiece
This small investment addresses the 3 things that fall short with the stock bridge. Intonation, tailpiece forward slant and the elimination of those pesky buzzy “sitar” tones show show up with the stock tailpiece. These 3 things seem magnified if you have a guitar that only weighs 5.5 lbs but man what a gigantic difference the Savvy and the locking studs make. I can’t ever imagine not having one of these in place on a stop bridge/tailpiece guitar. Thank you MCB!!
I got this for my Epi LP Special, and it did exactly what it was designed to do: Make it intonate properly. I’ll also be adding the studs, as the stock studs are a little iffy. Great folks to work with!
