"The Savvy" - Compensated Wraparound Tailpiece

Fix the issues I was having with my basic chords not being in tune with themselves on my Gibson Special. Used with the locking studs too, just to add some extra stability. I like that it really doesn't affect the look of the guitar at all like a more adjustable bridge would do. Easy-ish to install and adjust. I'm not a professional guitarist, just a person who plays my bedroom and with friends.

Great bridge for LP Jr. Like any effort for intonation, it is painstaking- but once you are done it’s great and with the locking studs you never have to worry about again. Highly recommend and thanks Joe Glaser and team for the awesome gear.

I put this bridge in a StewMac Les Paul Junior kit I put together for fun. I realized the electronic parts were cheap Chinese items. I put in all American pots, tone cap, cloth wiring and a decent but not great P-90. I replaced the funky chrome bridge with an after market from a good manufacturer a friend donated. I wasn't happy with the brassy tone. 'Ordered the Savvy and bingo. Solid P-90 sounds, nasty break up with more volume,, rock n roll,,, even still able to play some country stuff too. A quality upgrade from Joe Glaser's shop. I went to them from prior experience having several great B Benders installed in my Teles.

Great bridge

I’ve taken guitar building as a new hobby. I love Les Paul specials and 54 Les Paul standards, but I wanted to make my own. Going off the measurements from 1954, I wasn’t getting the correct intonation. NOW, with this bridge I’ve got intonation and such a smooth playing creation. I’ll be building more for myself so I’ll have to buy more of these savvy bridges!(:

The second thing I did after I bought my 2023 Gibson Les Paul Junior, was to order “The Savvy” (and a set of MCB locking studs) for it. Measured the bridge, post, and string heights, and then took the strings off. Replaced the studs with the MCB locking ones, slipped “The Savvy” on and restrung it. Stretched the strings out and went to adjust the intonation on the E strings… but I didn’t actually have to tweak it at all. Right out of the package, the intonation was spot on. Tightened the tops of the locking studs and spent the next several hours enjoying my guitar. I’ve always loved how wraparound guitars ring and resonate, and the combo of “The Savvy” and the locking studs have made what was already a resonant guitar, ring even more. And of course, now it’s in tune up and down the fretboard. Highly recommended.

Bought this Savvy to replace the stock wraparound on my '62 Junior. MCB website says it fits '61-present, but it sadly doesn't fit. It's too thick (or tall) to fit in the post slots of a legit 62. So I threw it on my '05 Junior, which it fit no problem. Works great, sounds great, and looks awesome.
